"Are you able to do? It is the most important question, and the only key question needed to answer in human life. -------- Yuanxia Zhang, Ph.D.

Xinyi Liuhe

What is the most powerful Chinese martial art? It is Xinyi Liuhe Quan (Spirit- Mindfulness Six-Harmonies Pugilism), it is also simplified as Xinyi Quan, or even Xinyi. The ultimate secrets of this tradition have been transferred generation by generation to very few grandmasters. Luckily, there is such a grandmaster knowing the ultimate secrets. He is Grandmaster Chen, Shoufu who currently lives in Flushing, New York. Dr. Zhang is his first indoor-disciple who will publish a book "The Most Powerful Chinese Martial Arts in the World ---- Xinyi Liuhe Quan" in the near future.

Zen

Zen And Psychotherapy: Views From A Chinese Psychologist. This might be the first book written by a NYS licensed psychologist and Zen practitioner from mainland China focusing on the relationship between original Chinese Zen and modern psychotherapy. There are tons of books about Zen, and several books about Zen and psychotherapy, but very few clearly reveal the nuance of original Chinese Zen. Dr. Yuanxia Zhang translates most of Zen classics excerpted in the book and shows the ambition to clarify the core of original Chinese Zen.

While Zen is focused on the universal phenomena of paradox, psychotherapy is aimed to help a patient resolve the troublesome paradox in his or her life. Dr. Zhang compares several popular schools of modern psychotherapy, such as psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, cognitive therapy, Gestalt therapy, existential therapy, and client-centered therapy with Zen, reveals the similarity among them, and demonstrates the possible integration between Zen and psychotherapy.

Liuhe Bafa

Liuhe Bafa is a unique style of Chinese internal martial art similar to Tai Chi Quan. Due to its beauty and complexity, it can be viewed as a comprehensive style of Tai Chi. Dr. Zhang mastered the original Liuhe Bafa, and developed his own style of Liuhe Bafa. In his view, Liuhe Bafa might be the most beautiful internal martial art in China. it is a life long art which may accompany the persons who practice it forever.
